Happy New Year 2019!!

Hey Everyone! All 3 of you that bother to read these. It has been a while.

I am constantly planning to write here and always get sidetracked. Seems like I come up with my best material when I am nowhere near a device.

"I will take charge of my time and achieve my goals."

What's new?

PJs 99 Tasks - my new business venture started at the end of July 2018. I racked up a few clients out the door and have 1 solid long-term client keeping me motivated. This year my goal is to expand my client count to at least 3 long-term clients and at least 2 one-off projects per month.

  • Money Management: Budgeting, Bookkeeping
  • Image Editing: Merging, Enlarging, Decorating, Enhancing
  • Business and Personal: Letterhead, Cards, Newsletters, Bulk Mail
  • Notary
  • TurboTax Tutoring (I am not a CPA or any kind of Licensed Accountant but I do have decades of experience filing my taxes using TurboTax. Including work related expenses and self-employed business filings.)
  • So much more I am not listing here. See my Facebook page (@pjs99tasks) for details or just email me pjs99tasks@gmail.com.

"I will stop procrastinating and change my life."

In order to be more efficient and prepared to take on more clients I must first take control of my physical environment. This means deep organization and elimination of my stuff.

The first step was completed a few days ago, my computer desk, aka the primary work space. Some rearranging and cleaning and thinning of clutter was desperately needed. My secondary workspace is coming along nicely. Eventually my entire living room will be functional again and I can tackle the old office. All that square footage is just going to waste as a storage dump for crap I haven't needed in years - except the things I forgot I had and probably bought new ones by now.

"I enjoy working hard and getting things done."

Or so I keep telling myself. These quotes are from a list of affirmations I keep on the wall in front of me and occasionally write them out as a way to imprint them on my brain.

The rest of the house is holding its own. I deep cleaned the kitchen just before Christmas, the top of the fridge and the floor. The cabinets are on my list but not a priority until my living room and office are sorted.

The other night I watched an episode of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix. Her method of grouping things together by what they are rather than where they are suits my personality quite well. So as I clean my clutter I am putting like items together, office supplies, cords, hardware, whatever, and then designating exactly where these items are to be kept. If it’s a drawer or a tray or a shelf or outside or wherever, I clean the area first and then only place the items in that area that I am not getting rid of.

I have a garbage can and a paper burn bag handy along with a dusting towel and canned air. Heavily soiled items (I live on a farm with 5 dogs and wood heat so dust piles up fast) get a trip to the sink for a proper hosing off.

The relief to my stress levels is unbelievable. I have never been that person who got stressed out about a mess but I think I did and just didn't really know why I was so stressed. But my constant need to avoid any area with a mess should have been a clue. My dishes are done, my floors are swept/vacuumed, my toilet is clean, and my laundry is washed and dried.

Those little basic everyday things allow to me focus on the bigger projects, or the bill paying, or the client needs, or the animals, etc. Stretching and walking are also vital to my metal state. LOL And water, so much water. If I don't get enough water during the day my sleep is interrupted at night by thirst and dry mouth.

In other news, my dear husband is suffering from some sort of sever leg pain/cramping with the cause still under investigation. It hurts him to sit, it hurts him to stand. It just hurts, excruciatingly so. 5 days in a Semi Truck take such a toll that he spends his 2 days at home just trying to recover so he can do it again. In an effort to minimize his duties at home, I have taken over the tasks of horse stall shoveling and firewood hauling.

On the up side, I put our gym membership on hold as I am getting plenty of exercise here now.

I would love to tell you more, and to discuss world events and the state of our nation but I have to get back to my project.

Maybe tomorrow.

Peace & Love
